
Trova Branding & App Redesign
For this co-op, I led a comprehensive redesign of Trova's branding and mobile app. Trova Inc. is a small Boston-based startup developing a social app built around hyperlocal communities. When I joined in January 2021, I was tasked with overhauling and cleaning up branding, and redesigning the Trova app for better usability and user experience.

When redesiging Trova’s marketing site, I realized we should start with cleaning up the pre-existing brand assets. I changed the primary colors and typography so that I could work in variation across the site by adjusting the secondary color, adding more muted tones to the palette, and adding a new header font.

Marketing Site
Using the new colors and typography, I redesigned and rebuilt the marketing site. Starting with a new sitemap, I restructured the site for simplicity and to more effectively reach target audiences. I combined pages that shared the same information on the app into a single Features page, and I added a new page targeted at community admins. I removed stock photography throughout and replaced it with mockups of the new Trova app.

Mobile App Redesign
I redesigned the mobile app with a focus on simplicity, usability, and potential for future expansion. I rounded all the tiles off to match the friendly look of the marketing site, removed extra text, increased text size for legibility, and generally cleaned up the layout to highlight the most important information. I also updated all the iconography to a simple line-art style, including designing new navbar icons.
