The Huntington

The Huntington is one of Boston's leading professional theaters, running shows and events across two event spaces, as well as facilitating new work development. For this project I developed three entirely new visual identities for them, each with its own distinct style and voice. Each one presents the theatre in a different way, while still staying true to its mission to engage and inspire audiences with shows from classics to new works.

One

Heritage

This identity is rooted in The Huntington’s heritage and ties into the 100 year old Huntington Theatre. Using vibrant colors, bold typography, and beautiful full page photography, this identity feels full of life. Both the visual identity and the brand voice show The Huntington’s rich history, and its role in new play development, tying past and future together.

Two

Stage

This identity speaks directly to the audience like an actor from the stage. With an emphasis on strong type, bold primary colors, and speaking in a commanding brand voice, I built an identity that has to be noticed, wherever it is.

Three

Stripped

This identity gets to the emotional core of the theatre - both on the stage and in the audience. A limited color and typographic palette, paired with emotion filled photography pulls the audience into the theater, making them an important part of the brand.
